The Council for Interior Design Qualification requires certificate holders to complete 6 hours of Continuing Education every 2 years to retain membership.

Interior Designers licensed in a U.S. state that regulates interior design are usually required to comply with mandatory continuing education requirements, which vary per state. Additional requirements might apply for interior designers who are members of a professional organization (ASID, IIDA, etc.) and for those who hold additional credentials (LEED, etc.).

As of the date of this post, the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, State Board of Interior Design does not require New York Interior Designers to complete Continuing Education.
