Connecticut interior designers are required to complete 4 hours of Continuing Education every 3 years.
- CE Requirement: 4 CE (Continuing Education) hours every 3 years following the first renewal. All 4 CE hours must contain content related to the Connecticut Building and Fire Safety Codes.
- Renewal Date: December 31, every 3 years from the first renewal of the certificate of registration.
- CE Reporting Cycle: Triennial - Credits must be earned between October 1 prior to renewal and September 30 of the year the credential will renew (i.e. October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2029). Please note that this CE completion deadline is 3 months before the renewal date.
- Acceptable Coursework: The Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection accepts courses which contain content related to the Connecticut Building and Fire Safety Codes. It is up to the licensee to determine whether the activity meets the Board’s requirements. Requirements are subject to change and final discretion is up to the Board.
- Reporting of Credits: Registrants attest to completing the annual continuing education requirement on the renewal form. Design Arts Seminars reports credits electronically whenever possible.
- Tracking of Credits: Registered designers are responsible for maintaining proof of successful completion of continuing education activities for at least 3 years following the renewal for which credits were claimed.
- Audit: All interior designers registered in Connecticut are subject to audit by the Board and upon request will need to provide documentation to support the CEs claimed at renewal.
- Carry-over Credits: Not permitted.
