Licensed New Mexico interior designers are required to complete 20 hours of Continuing Educationevery year.
CE Requirement:As of July 2023, 20 hours of Continuing Education hours(20 CE hours), all of which must address Health, Safety & Welfare (HSW).
Renewal Cycle: October 1 every 4 years starting in 2027.
CE Reporting Cycle:Quadrennial- Credits must be earned within the 4 years immediately preceding renewal date (e.g. continuing education must be earned from October 2, 2023 to October 1, 2027).
Acceptable Coursework: The New Mexico Board of Interior Design or IDCEC approved continuing education courses as detailed on the Board'swebsite.
Reporting of Credits: Providers cannot report continuing education credits earned to the New Mexico Board. However, licensees must submit the required proof of attendance as part of their annual renewal (along with renewal application and fee). Design Arts Seminars reports credits electronically whenever possible.
Tracking of Credits: Registrants are responsible for maintaining proof of successful completion of continuing education activities.
Audit: All interior designers registered in New Mexico are subject to audit by the Board and upon request will need to provide documentation to support the PDHs claimed at renewal.
